Reaper's Fall (Reapers MC #5)
by Joanna Wylde
Book 5 in the Reapers Motorcycle Club series. This book could be read as a standalone, however to really get a good understanding of the club, relationships and both Melanie and Painter, I recommend reading this series from the start. On that note, Painter is also featured quite heavily in Silver Bastard, so do yourself a favour and read that book as well.
Levi “Painter” Brooks. His story was always going to be epic, because of how much we have got to know him in the previous books. I fell in love with him in Devil’s Game, and felt his pain when Em unintentionally broke his heart. We then watch the effect that had on him during Reapers Stand, culminating in the epilogue that left us wanting more.
It is raw, it isn't always pretty, but this is Painter’s story.
Melanie Tucker has had a tough start in life. Abandoned by her mother and growing up with her alcoholic father, Melanie has been so thankful for the love that her best friends aunt London has always had for her. Now London is married to the President of the Reapers MC, and Pic has also become the type of protector her father should have been. And so her introduction to the biker world begins. When a tentative friendship develops into a more meaningful pen pal relationship with a jailed biker named Painter, she has no idea how much change he will bring to her life; both good and bad.
Melanie Tucker’s letters have kept Painter going throughout the time he has been incarcerated. He has had fantasies that would make her blush if she only knew what her letters did for him. But on his release he knows the best thing for her, for him and his club is to keep his distance. But when she turns up at a club party and flirts up a storm with a brother from another chapter, the green eyed monster takes over. The sensible thing would be to walk away, he just can’t make his feet move in the right direction.
And so begins a relationship that will span many years, causing much hurt, one special gift and a love that’s flames refuse to die, no matter how much they each try to extinguish them.
Once again Joanna gives us a story that is well researched, beautifully written and packed with a rainbow full of emotions. I have been desperate for Painter’s book and it certainly didn't disappoint. If I am splitting hairs then I would at this point mention that I would have liked less details in the past and more post a certain event, but do you know what I will forgive Joanna for that because every bit of this book was engaging, fast paced and full of the drama that we have come to expect from the Reaper’s boys.
Another fantastic addition to this best-selling series. This is MC writing at its best. If you are yet to meet the Reapers of Coeur d’Alene, then seriously get 1-clicking. A MUST READ instalment in a MUST READ series.

Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.
Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.
Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.
