Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed
by Jade C Jamison
Companion novel to the Tangled Web series
Kory McCallister has had her eyes on tattoo artist Stone Bowman for quite some time—so long, in fact, that no other guy will do. Stone pushes every turn-on button Kory has—he’s tattooed from head to toe; he’s hot; he’s funny and charming; and he’s also mysterious. So when Kory’s friends dare her to ask Stone out on a date, she can’t believe she actually finds the guts to do it.
More surprising? He takes her up on the offer.
She discovers that, while his past might not be quite as dark or mysterious as she’d imagined, it’s bigger than she’d expected, and it’s something she will need to contend with if she decides she wants to keep him around to color her life for good.

Oh I really enjoyed this shorter standalone novel from Jade C Jamison. Even though it can be comfortably read in a couple of hours, it really incorporates all the fundamental elements that make a good story work. A true sense of emotion can be found here, as we delve into the heart and mind of two very well thought out characters, both hiding behind a dark childhood secret.
Yes, Jade isn't afraid to play the angst card so this does focus briefly on child abuse but it didn't cloud the dynamics of what is a beautiful love story. This is a story of healing, of finding hope and acceptance within the arms of a kindred spirit, by someone who understands what it means to have that power taken away, only to succeed in taking it back.
Kory is a sweet girl with a tormented soul. She may have found solace by playing around in high school but now a 20-year-old college student, her time is spent working and studying. Her only interest outside is the man who gave her that first piercing many months ago. Now, he is a fascination and Kory knows that the only way she can get closer is to just ask him on a date, but for someone with emotional baggage aplenty, that is easier said than done.
Stone Bowman is a tattoo artist who is every woman's wet dream. Successful, beautiful and talented, he's never had trouble finding female companions but when a regular customer finally plucks up the courage to ask him out, he can't help but smile. She isn't like the others and his interest is peaked.
Soon Kory and Stone become well acquainted but it's obvious there are a few skeletons in each of their closets and sooner or later something has to give...
And give it does, in spades! Jade is such a gifted writer, she really does succeed in pulling you into the story while delivering some of the most elaborate yet tasteful love scenes I have ever had the pleasure of reading. This isn't erotica, but a real nurtured and sympathetic love story intertwined with a personal step to recovery.
Stone is hot ladies! Just the kind of character we have come to expect from Jade and she never fails to deliver.

Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed... aren't we all??
Many of us may not have ink on our skin, but we are tattooed permanently in our hearts, souls and minds by life.
"You are more than your past."
This quote far expresses what this book is about. It is deep in a heart-wrenching, soul-twisting way.
We have Kory, an amazing young woman who is trying to make the best of her situation. She actually had horrors happen to her in the past, repeatedly, and has found it very hard to move on.
She may be broken, but she is also a survivor.
In enters Stone. Kory is stalker-ishly obsessed with this hotness of a man and I mean, seriously, who wouldn't be? He is everything Kory ever dreamed of but he also has secrets of his own.
Their pasts, their strengths and their futures intertwine with deep beauty, with respect and gentleness.
Will their past dictate and destroy their future? Or can they overcome it all, together?
Jade outdid herself with this story, I LOVED IT!!!
