Precarious (Jokers' Wrath MC, #1)by Bella Jewel

In darkness, we find danger. In danger, I find Beau.

Ash is a prison guard, she's tough, she's strong and she never backs away from a fight. She takes her job seriously, she takes her training seriously, and everything in her life goes as planned.

Until the day he is brought into the prison.

She'll never forget meeting Beau 'Krypt' Dawson for the first time. She'll never forget his haunted eyes and his numb expression. He's a member of the Jokers Wrath MC and it is said he killed an innocent family in the middle of a cafe, in cold blood.

Deranged. Crazy. Psychotic.
All those words describe the infamous Krypt, but Ash suspects there's far more to the quiet man than meets the eye. Secrets are being hidden by the club, information is being kept under wraps. Krypt is silent for a reason.

Ash is desperate to know that reason.

Continually fighting, Krypt is transferred to a high security prison. Ash is in charge. She's always prepared, always alert. Not even her skills will stop the club from ambushing them and taking back Krypt. Only Ash ends up right in the middle of it.
They take her, too.

Now she's stuck with a Motorcycle Club who are tougher than any prisoner she's ever laid eyes on. And they won't let her go. She's too much of a risk. Until the situation can be sorted, they send her and Krypt into the mountains together....alone.
An epic, dangerous love will be built on the foundations of darkness.

Book 1 in the new Joker's Wrath MC series.

So at this stage I will admit that I was a little nervous when this appeared on my Kindle. I am a huge fan of Bella's MC Sinners series and I also enjoyed book 1 in her Rebels On Bikes series. Would another MC series cut the mustard? Would it be too similar to her other MC based Novels? Simply put, Would it be unique, different and draw me in as much as the others or is Bella spreading herself too thinly? Let me assure you now that I needn't have concerned myself at all.

Precarious (and I say this a lot - but only when I mean it wholeheartedly) is a very unique and different story to any MC inspired book I have read (which is a lot!)

Introduced to Ash our heroine, you know immediately that this is going to be a different ride. Ash is a prison guard and a dedicated one at that. She works amongst violent and disturbed male inmates but with empathy and a desire to help there damaged and sometimes deranged personalities. When a fatal shooting of a family takes place, the culprit is soon brought into custody and placed into her unit. There is something about Beau Dawson. He responds to no one and she is weirdly captivated by him and not just because of his looks. Beau is The VP of the Joker's Wrath MC, there is something about him and she can't shake the feeling that there is more to his story than what there appears to be. When he is suddenly deemed too violent for the prison and is shipped off to a more high security unit, Ash find herself along for the ride as security. When however the Secure Van is intercepted, she soon finds herself placed in the middle of a dangerous war between two MC's where only one will be left standing.

Taken captive by Beau otherwise known as Krypt, life is about to change for Ash. When she realises that her captors may indeed be her protectors, Ash will find herself questioning everything and everyone.

I loved this book, it had a real mystery and suspense feel to it that you wouldn't necessarily expect from an MC book. It had just the right balance of sexual tension and violence and mixed with the whole suspense element it made it a really fast paced read.

The characters were a real interesting mix, in particular it was nice to read about a kick ass female in a job role that is seen as predominantly male. Krypt was a complete pig headed biker, but actually he had this soft and needy side and it worked really well. Of course you are introduced to other characters and it just leaves you highly anticipating their story.

So as expected with a series, there is a type of cliffy; It's more a case of getting you ready for the next characters story though. Therefore don't feel the need to wait until all the books in the series are released as it would be unnecessary and to be honest you would be missing out on a really good read.

Well done Bella on another brilliant MC book, you really are becoming the must read author of this genre.
