High Strung (Power Station, #1)
by T. Gephart
T. Gephart gave me a backstage pass, and I will be forever grateful because Dan and Ashlyn's story granted me a laugh a minute, the warm and fuzzies and a rekindled love of Rock Star Romance. It's been a while since I rode on my favorite genre bandwagon, so High Strung came at the perfect time, and I loved every moment of it.
Dan 'the man' Evans is a walking, talking, bass wielding sex machine with no filter and I absolutely bloody loved him...even if he thinks English chicks are mouthy and uptight! haha. He was an absolute riot. Dan can go from 0 to 60 in 0.2 seconds and has the uncanny ability to talk muffins and tits in one paragraph. I haven't laughed this much reading a book in ages and for that I thank Tina for introducing me to Power Station because these boys now have a fan for life!
Now, our heroine, Ashlyn Murphy is the good college graduate next door, working in a bar to make ends meet while desperately seeking alternative work in finance. Her penchant for success has left her a little inexperienced in the sex/male/boyfriend department but all that changes one day when she comes face to face with Dan Evans before an interview with the bands manager.
Flush faced and in denial of Dan's sex appeal and 'what you see is what you get' persona, Ashlyn tries to get the renowned manwhore out of her mind, but when she and her best friend see him at their local club, all bets are off after one drunken night and a lost clutch.
Ashlyn's world is about to get turned on its head, but what started as a little fun gets Dan's head spinning, and opening to the possibility that girlfriends can actually exist, and he may just find himself wanting one of his own...
High Strung is one of those books you devour with a silly grin on your face. It was funny, sexy, with great dialogue and loveable characters that has wet my appetite for more.
Put this girl on the guest list, because I'm coming back for an encore. Crash Ride here I come...
And Dan, Its 'Zed,' all right! ;)
Brilliant. Read it!

Ashlyn Murphy was not living the dream. Twenty-seven years old, college educated, up to her eyeballs in debt and yet she’d been relegated to pouring beers at a local bar. She desperately needed an out and was willing to do anything to get back into the corporate world. Well, almost anything. Dan Evans, Rock Star was NOT one of those things. In fact she despised him. Apparently he didn’t get the memo.
Dan Evans, bass player of international rock band Power Station had it all. He was rich, travelled the world, played to millions of adoring fans and had no shortage of beautiful women willing to share his bed. He didn’t need a moody redheaded knockout with a superiority complex complicating his life. Or did he?
When two people who couldn’t be more opposite cross paths, it’s bound to be explosive; sometimes all you can do is sit back and enjoy the show.
