Grayson's Vow (A Sign of Love Novel)
by Mia Sheridan
This book sits within the Sign of Love collection of novels, and is based on the Zodiac sign of Libra. It is a standalone.
Kira Dallaire has arrived in Napa out of necessity. Needing to withdraw from a savings account her Gram set up with her as a child, this is her life line. With her entire life packed into her little Jetta and with nowhere to stay, the $2047.16 will give her at least a few days to decide what her options are. When she overhears a bank employee mention the name Grayson Hawthorn, she is struck by a memory of the name, the fact that this person had committed a crime, and that her father, the former San Francisco Mayor, had taken an interest in him. What she witnesses in the bank, starts her thinking about her own life, her future and creates another bad idea in a very long list of ‘Very Bad Ideas.’
Grayson Hawthorn is struggling to keep himself and his business afloat. Following his release from a 5 year stint in prison, he found himself in ownership of his family’s vineyard following the death of his father. What should be a gift is more like an albatross around his neck. He has slowly had to lay off the 100+ staff that his father had and is now down to just 3. His machinery is breaking down and his childhood home is deteriorating around him. When his only hope of survival becomes redundant, he is left with very little options… or is he.
When Kira turns up at Grayson’s vineyard, he is unprepared for the offer she makes. It is mad and totally ridiculous, but it may be the only hope they both have. She is a witch and he is a dragon, but together they might just be something really special… or they might be the biggest mistake in the history of mistakes they have both made.
Right I just need to get it out there now… This is the BEST Mia Sheridan book to date. Forget Archer, Calder, Leo. Hell, I never thought I’d hear myself say this, but forget Carson bloody Stinger. Grayson Hawthorn has got it going on. This book is magical, beautiful and so good that I was swept away to Napa… Yes, I could practically smell the grapes.
As with all Mia’s book, her writing skills and raw talent means that you instantly step into the world she is writing about. The story she has revolved around the Libran zodiac sign is atmospheric, romantic and it just left me breathless with anticipation as I turned the pages, unable to step away from the beautiful story I was reading.
She has created in Kira and Grayson, two characters that are so different yet very much the same. The pasts they share are sadly very similar, but the way they have moved on with their lives and the outlook they now have is very different. One is giving, open, positive and vivacious the other is dark moody, bitter and pessimistic. I felt their struggles and their hurt, but also the potential for them both if they allowed it. They were a pleasure to read about.
An amazing new book from the awesome Ms Sheridan, which will definitely remain close to my heart. If you love Mia’s books then you are going to be blown away. If however, you have never read any books from this fantastic author, Grayson’s Vow is a great introduction. This book has shot into my top reads of the year. A romantic masterpiece.

Grayson... ahhhh.. my broken man... I did want to knock him upside the head a few times but in the end... his journey, his heart, becomes one of the most beautiful in existence.
This story is set in a tragically beautiful vineyard, and Mia outdid herself in portraying the main characters and all the other characters in this story as vivid as a picture.
You feel you are part of the story.. you are in the rooms with them, living and experiencing each and every emotion as if they were your own!
This is an amazing story of opposite personalities being the absolute perfect fit!

'Grayson's Vow is a beautifully captivating and deeply moving modern day fairy tale romance that sweeps you up and holds you captive in its magic. Bewitching, funny, sexy and at times deeply raw, this new standalone novel by the wonderfully talented Mia Sheridan is an absolute must read!' - Kelly, Perusing Princesses
Kira Dallaire and Grayson Hawthorn are two headstrong, focused characters that come together at a time when they are at their most vulnerable and the results are positively explosive.
Kira is running from a life she has no control over, regarded as no more than a puppet by her overpowering political Father, she breaks free from his confines only to find herself homeless and penniless.
Grayson is an ex-con and estranged son of a successful Vineyard owner who suddenly died of cancer whilst he was still incarcerated. All that is left of his Father's legacy is a failing business and bankruptcy, and no bank will touch him.
Kira is known for her crazy hair brained ideas, so when she spots the beautiful man in the bank, she takes it upon herself to offer him the business deal of a lifetime, there is just one little snag...
They have to get married.
Kira has $700,000 locked up in her Grandmothers will, and marriage is the key to unlocking it.
Grayson thinks she's crazy; a spoilt little witch who just wants to get back at Daddy. Kira believes him to be a prickly, rude dragon who will kick her to the kerb as soon as the cheque clears. Well...fine by her. This is just a business transaction destined for success, and a marriage set to fail. Easy right? Well... One would think, but when has living a lie ever been easy? Especially when the real truths are right there in front of you... In Vino Veritas.
This story was so refreshing. It was charming, soothing and atmospheric with a touch of comedy and many emotional bumps. There are highs and lows but most excitingly, a burning sexual tension that literally jumps right out of the page.
Grayson is aloof but very charming when he wants to be which gave him a sense of mystery, whereas Kira is a more 'what you see is what you get' type who keeps her emotions and heart locked down tight - A perfect yin and yang.
She was never supposed to let the Dragon in, but she is captivated by his lair. Grayson is still trying to overcome a betrayal that rocked his world, yet this witch seems to be casting her spell.
Well... Mia certainly cast her spell on me. The setting, character dynamics, storyline, double POV writing style, everything about this book delivered a highly enjoyable reading experience proving that Mia Sheridan delivers time and time again. Outstanding!
