Easy Virtue(Virtue, #1)
by Mia Asher
Love is selfish...
My name is Blaire.
I'm the bad girl
The other woman.
The one who never gets the guy in the end.
I'm the gold digger.
The one no one roots for.
The one you love to hate.
I hate myself too...
Everyone has a story. Are you ready for mine?

Easy Virtue is a story of sexual prosperity. Blaire is a gold digger and has no hang ups in admitting it. Love is complicated, it hurts and destroys families in her eyes, nothing good can be gained from opening yourself up to those emotions. Survival of the fittest and most beautiful is key in getting what you want and the only way is by sleeping with the richest batchelors in the city; no emotions, no promises of happily ever after, just raw sex and a stable bank balance is a system that works, or it did...until him!
"Many say that love will set you free, but I disagree... love is a cage, a very painful one...and the moment I realised that love wasn't necessary to one's survival I became free."
Blaine is not like other girls. Her parents may live within the same four walls but her existence is one of loneliness. The only way to find affection is in the arms of another.
No one likes bullies, but Blaire finds that at 17 she has the beauty and independence to deal with it her way. Sleeping with the wealthy Father of the girl who makes her life hell at school is one notch on the bedpost worth remembering, but that is where it ends...
Now twenty-three, Blaire has only one goal, and that is to live in a life of luxury paid for by her latest conquest. Love is not an option, only a stable bank balance and the latest Jimmy Choo's, but all that is about to change when one man puts her theory to the test...
Ronan isnt like the others, for starters he isn't rich, but he has something they don't; an honest heart and love for a woman who has deemed herself unworthy.
Blaire is fuelled by fear of her feelings for Ronan, and greed, as she runs into the arms of notorious business mogul, Mr Lawrence Rothschild. However, this time, she may have bit off a little more than she can chew...
And my goodness, I think this has got to be one of the most exhilarating and frustrating stories I have read this year and that is not necessarily a bad thing at all because I was absolutely hooked!
Blaire may be somewhat of a fickle bitch but her honesty is refreshing, and if I met her in real life I'd probably hate her for everything she stands for, but getting into her mind and realising there is a very insecure girl deep within is what made this story tick, and I loved that character complexity.
Ronan is the light, the beauty in this story, he is truly adorable but I'm sorry, I am flying the Lawrence Rothschild flag here ladies... I want one! Yes, call me fickle, but I want that man, his bedroom skills and that black credit card along with his cool and calculated exterior that is fascinating, alpha-phoric and just downright sexy.
I can't wait to see where this story goes in the sequel. My only gripe is I wish the 'to be continued'... ended a little differently. I'm hanging on a ledge over here with my panties in knots!
Well played Mia Asher for delivering another angsty, taboo fuelled read with a wicked triangle twist. I have come to the conclusion that I don't just love a bad boy, I love a bad girl too! ;)
