Breaking Alexandria by K.A Robinson
Alexandria’s drug-dealing boyfriend, Joel, isn’t exactly the white knight she’s always dreamed of, but she can’t deny the crazy connection they have. She would do anything for him, including helping him sell drugs in order to fit perfectly into his world.
After catching Alexandria dealing for Joel, instead of turning her into the cops, Alexandria’s mother forces her to move to her grandparents’ farm in West Virginia. Spending the summer in the country, away from Joel, is the last thing Alexandria wants to do. But lucky for her, the sexy farmhand, Landon, who helps out around her grandparents’ place, is a very nice distraction.
She tries her best to ignore her attraction to him, especially since she still loves Joel. When Joel does the unforgivable, Alexandria turns to her new friend, Landon, for comfort, and it ignites an undeniable spark of attraction between them. Soon, she finds herself caught between two very different men, and the struggles within her heart just might end up breaking Alexandria.

"Best K.A novel, yet!
Breaking Alexandria is a coming of age love story with an emotional edge. I liked the first half, thoroughly enjoyed the second and loved the conclusion. This book progressed beautifully with great pace that kept me hooked from start to finish.
I really liked our heroine even though her plethora of fuck ups made her flawed and unlikeable at times, she loved deeply, truly and irrevocably. Even when lost she stayed true to herself and admitted to her faults, she knew she was far from perfect and I respected that. Alexandria may only be 17 but I still connected to her character and sympathised with her situation even though her actions warranted it. We are all fools in love, especially when it comes to our ‘first’. As a mid 30's reader to feel that connection to a 'younger generational' read is very important and thankfully, I got it here.
Joel and Landon were great characters; both complete opposites and both in love with our girl, makes for all the elements of a solid love triangle, although this is anything but.
The evacuated troublesome city girl meets the small-town farmhand cowboy, and everything changes...
Love, lust, heartbreak and guilt... This book has it all. But best of all, its a tale of second chances, of finding oneself and learning to live again in a world that once threatened to tear you apart and made you question who you really are.
Even though there is a drug theme here, I don't believe there are any villains, just young people making bad choices. So in that respect, the drug theme here is pretty tame.
Oh and please Invest in tissues, I did sniffle once or twice (me and you will be 'having words,' K.A!) ;)
Great Read! Buy it!
