Beautiful Outlaw (Savage Outlaws MC, #1)
by Emily Minton
After ten years of surviving as a walking, talking, living doll, Laura feels dead inside.
She has sacrificed everything for her family, marrying a man she could never love. Her husband doesn’t beat her, doesn’t berate her. He transforms her, forcing her to live as a stand-in for his long dead wife. She stays silent as piece after piece of herself disappears, willing to do anything to protect the people she loves.
When his demands go too far, she finally tells her brother the ugly truth.
Wanting to protect her without putting the rest of their family at risk, he sends her to the one place he knows she’ll be safe. He places her into the hands of his best friend, Vice President of the Savage Outlaws MC.
Once again, she is transformed into someone new; Shay.
Bowie has spent many nights dreaming about his best friend’s little sister. The reality is so much sweeter than his dreams. He wants to be more for Shay, needs to protect her, but he’s not sure if he knows how.
Can an Outlaw show her how beautiful life should be?

Book 1 in the new Savage Outlaws MC series. This is completely separate to her Renegade Sons series but fans of the Hellions series by Chelsea Camaron will recognises some characters as they appeared Merciless Ride.
Laura, is trapped in a marriage to an older man. Isolated from her friends and the family she has sold her soul for, she has lived for the last 10 years being turned into Gwendolyn, his dead ex wife. Endless grooming and surgeries to transform her have left her compliant and helpless. The hold he has over her is one that she can't break; her mother's life would be at risk. When though he once again suggests a surgery that will forever end her dreams of a life away from him, it is the push to run as far as she can. With the help of her police officer brother Locke she fakes her own death and starts her new life as Shay.
Bowie is an outlaw. Ex military and VP of the Savage Outlaws MC, he is as loyal as he is dangerous. When his old buddy from his military days contacts him needing him to provide protection for his sister he doesn't even hesitate. He remembers the stories and pictures of the beautiful Laura, so he is shocked when a thin and uptight ice queen turns up. He wanted her protected in his bed, but quickly drops her at his Mamma's; she is certainly not who he expected.
Over time the real Laura comes back in the form of Shay, and she is exactly who he wants; but Shay has put up with years of being controlled and she certainly has no intentions of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Club politics and the past will catch up with both Bowie and Shay. Can Shay take a chance on Bowie? and will Bowie be able to protect Shay? Loyalties and friendship will be tested, the road to happiness is never a easy one and theirs will be no different.
What a cracker of a book this is. I was surprised when I found out that Emily Minton was starting another MC series. I love her Renegade Sons series and I did have concerns that it may weaken the storyline of this series. That me assure you that it doesn't. This has a great storyline with a great cast of bikers and family. Bowie is the best type of biker. You will equally hate and love him, he is bossy, seriously dominant and can be aggressive. Above all of that though he is incredibly loyal to his friends and family and he loves Shay and will do anything to protect her. Shay questions her attraction to him throughout as she would given her situation but luckily she also has the ability to see the bigger picture.
I look forward to the next books in this series. I loved Tin-man, Locke, Rollo and Tag and after the 2 (yes that's right - 2) epilogues it leaves me eager for more (even though one characters story scares me as I have a feeling he is going to break my heart)
Another fantastic ride with a Biker you will love and hate :)
