I can't tell you all how amazing this book is. It's almost impossible to articulate into words. This mad, mad love between
the beautiful Ryan and Julia is turned up ten-fold in this third and final instalment, but with a twist that will knock
you sideways. Kahlen has hit the ball out of the literary park with 'A Love Like This.' You will experience every poignant
emotion from unyielding love and devotion, to total desolation, frustration and…heartbreak, so profound, so palpable
it will leave you breathless.
BOOK REVIEW: A Love Like This - (The Remembrance Trilogy, #3) - Kahlen Aymes

"I wanted every day of forever to spend in his arms, secure in the knowledge that he loved me in ways I couldn’t comprehend and I loved him more than I could ever put into words. The love between us was too much and yet…not enough. If we died drowning in each other’s arms, it would never be enough." - Julia

Plans for the future are finally falling into place for Ryan and Julia, as they embark on a new journey, experiencing the pleasures and sacrifices of matrimonial bliss.

Attending the wedding of Aaron and his Jenna is the icing on the cake. Both brothers now successful and thriving in medicine, both settled with the women they love so irrevocably.

There is only one thing that has ever, and continues, to come between them…
their careers.

Like passing ships in the night, Ryan and Julia have long established that time together is precious, but with Ryan enduring 80-hour weeks in the ER at St. Vincent’s Hospital in downtown New York and Julia’s career catapulting her to new heights at Vogue magazine in Manhattan, it was always going to be working against them.

Especially as they now yearn to start a family of there own, a baby to seal the bond of love they share - hoping it will further help them both to heal and come to terms with the loss of their firstborn many months ago.

Just as their dream plans start to become a possibility, Ryan and Julia’s world is rocked off it’s axis when Ryan comes under attack in the ER after trying to save the life of a young male who was involved in a gangland shooting. Trying desperately to thwart the criminals wielding deadly weapons while saving the life of the 16-year-old gang member was not something he could do alone. When the rival gang leader attacks, the last thing Ryan sees is Jane, his ER nurse as she shoves him out of the way and becomes victim to a fatal blow to her lower torso.

With Jane’s life hanging in the balance, Ryan battles to stem the significant blood flow by pinching her artery closed until extra aid arrives, amid the realisation that this selfless woman had probably just saved his life.

When Jane learns of the devastating life-changing injury she has received, the only person she can confide in is Ryan, as he aids her in her recovery, both physically and emotionally. Swarming with guilt, Ryan tries his hardest to juggle gruelling work schedules, married life and…Jane.

But as Jane starts to gradually form a close friendship with Ryan, a wedge between Ryan and Julia starts to develop, especially when all the signs are evident to Julia that Jane feels more for her Husband than he is willing to accept or acknowledge.

With no room for a third party in this marriage, the clock is continuing to tick down, walls are starting to crumble and it’s only a matter of time before the world as they know it, may just come crashing down around them…

Prepare yourselves readers, for this book is unlike the other two! Ryan and Julia are the strongest book characters I know when it comes to that unconditional, all encompassing love. These are two soul-mates who will always find their way back home to each-other, regardless of the many obstacles that have, up until now, been thrown amidst their path.
But, with book 3, Hold. On. Tight! Because this new and refreshing plot will have you experiencing Ryan and Julia in a whole new way.
We are still treated with double first person narrative, giving us, the reader, a front row seat to the inner thoughts, the undeniable passion, emotional turmoil, jealousy and upset that each individual character flits between, further capitalizing on the magic that is, Kahlen’s writing.
She is the master of love scenes and emotional projection. When they hurt, you hurt. When they love, you love. When they act undesirably, you feel that disappointment and frustration. Because to me, Ryan and Julia are not just book characters anymore, they are friends, and as a friend there were times I wanted to jump in-between them and smack their heads together, then in the next breath hug the ever loving shit out of them.
I feel so privileged and thankful to Kahlen for letting me receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review and wow, she certainly pulled it out of the bag. A truly fitting end to a beautiful trilogy, and YES… I will put you out of your misery…
...THERE IS AN HEA! :)

Simply because…
”There never was, nor will there ever be…a love like this.” -Ryan

A Love Like This By Kahlen Aymes

WARNING: Contains one very hot and very heart meltingly loveable leading man!!

Well the first word that springs to my mind when thinking about this book is 'WOW!', secondly, I would like to say that it made a really nice change to pick up a book (or in my case, my kindle) and fall into the depths of those emotions of that first 'one true love' bittersweet despair.

For those of us who have been fortunate enough to know what its like to be in love; to remember that moment when it completely consumes you mind, body and soul, where you can think of nothing and no-one else. Those inner turmoil of emotions that can switch in a moment from incandescent happiness and contentment to sudden love struck grief. This book reflects on how young love can be so beautiful and be so devastatingly difficult. It reflects on the sacrifices of love and compromises that come with it.

Ryan and Julia are soul mates, they have secretly loved each-other since College but remained Best Friends for 4 years. It's not until Ryan receives his acceptance letter to Harvard that the reality of their time and distance apart kicks in, and they finally succumb and admit to each-other their true feelings.

They soon embark on a very passionate love affair. Written in first person with both leading characters sharing equal space on the page. Kahlen Aymes has done a wonderful job in highlighting the difficulties that come with long distance relationships. Even though that love is so all consuming, it still proves a hardship even in the strongest of relationships.

The sexual encounters are steamy, but without being too explicitly graphic and seedy. Unlike some erotica novels, you can actually feel the love flow from the characters and jump out from the page and into your heart. Sounds whimsical I know, but while reading this book I have to admit I did have a silly grin on my face the whole way through, and it brought back those emotions that I felt as a lovesick late teenager (YA), much to the amusement of my husband!

However, without planting any spoilers, I wasn't quite prepared for the last couple of chapters and I ended the book with a huge lump in my throat and a stray tear (little buggar). I don't cry often while reading but the end of this particular book really got to me. So be warned, you may need a tissue or two!

The excerpt from the next book at the end was much appreciated, and I am looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

Due to the graphic sexual nature of this story, this is for mature readers only - 18+

So for you Fifty Shades fans who want something a little more heart-warming, with many I Love You's, then you really must try this book.

I absolutely loved this book!! Ms. Aymes is an amazing writer! she has a gift to just suck you into a story and give you an emotional roller coaster ride while still having the characters and what they go through feel REAL! read it in a couple of hours, just could not put it down! i wish i could give it 100 stars... I can't wait for the rest of the trilogy to be published!

"God, you're beautiful." The words tore from his throat in a low growl. "You leave me breathless. I'm...undone, Julia. there are no words to tell you how much I've missed you...how much I fucking love you."

To say this book left me breathless was probably an understatement, I probably should have invested in a ventilator and a blood pressure device because it shot through the roof. Not entirely due to the heartfelt and passionate love this book evokes but the heartbreak and emotional turmoil that also played a huge part in this second instalment.

For those of you who have read the first book, The Future of our Past, you will have prepared yourself for the opening of Don't Forget to Remember Me, well... If you are wise you would have. Automatically I was thrown back into that emergency room, and the urgency, terror and grief that Ryan is experiencing literally hits the reader like a train wreck. I actually forgot how incredibly talented Kahlen is as a writer, she has the ability to write emotion so profound that it will leave you gasping. Whether it is a beautifully written love scene, or one of absolute emotional turmoil, the words flow so effortlessly you can't help but get sucked in to all the drama that unfolds in this book.

Without trying to give away too much, this story again revolves around the two main characters, Julia and Ryan. After a devastating accident, Julia has to learn to find herself again, and Ryan is the key to her rehabilitation. However, this 'mad mad love' has a way of turning a sour situation into one that will one day again make sense.

Follow Ryan and Julia in their next chapter, and discover how two destined soul-mates always seem to find their way home.

Book one of the After Dark, Series

Dr. Angeline Hemming is a beautiful, sassy, no-nonsense type of girl who has risen from a difficult past to become one of Chicago’s most successful and respected criminal profilers. In exchange for free commercials to promote her favorite charitable causes, Angel answers calls and gives relationship advice on a Friday night radio program.

Alexander Avery is a gorgeous and successful corporate genius who doesn’t believe in love. When his girlfriend-of-convenience calls into Angel’s program, he is furious with the show’s host who doles out (what he considers) blind advice, without knowing all the facts… and he decides to give her a piece of his mind, and his side of the story!

When Angel informs Alex he’s the one in need of a much-deserved lesson, all hell breaks loose as these two type-A personalities battle it out for control over minds and hearts, and yes, in bed. Not only are they fighting each other at every turn, but they are also struggling to uphold the convictions they each live by.

It’s unclear who is stronger, but both must discover that to get what they desperately want, they may have to give a little… or a lot.

Sparks Fly … Lines Blur… Hearts Break
Alexander Avery is rich, powerful and the sexiest man Angeline Hemming has ever laid eyes on: a man like every woman dreams about. Angel is not immune to his sensual and ruthless pursuit, and Alex is intoxicated by the beautiful doctor; overwhelmed with desire like he’s never known.

As one of Angel’s profiling cases gets more and more dangerous, Alex finds himself filled with unfamiliar panic and emotional turmoil; his need to protect her goes against Angel’s adamant insistence that she doesn’t need his help. He isn’t a man to sit on the sidelines when the woman he’s obsessed with is threatened, so he takes control to protect her without telling her of his plans.

Angel’s fortitude is shaken when her stalker invades not only her personal life but also those close to her… even when that someone is as powerful and seemingly untouchable as Alexander Avery. Professional ethics insist she keep the details or her work secret, even as their newfound closeness has her yearning to confide in him. But, as Angel’s quest to protect her heart from Alex’s
undeniable pull equals her need to keep him out of a dangerous situation, circumstances dictate a huge decision; which could have detrimental, and irreversible consequences for them both.

When danger threatens and jealousy reaches the boiling point, lies will be told and secrets kept… Even with the best intentions and the most undeniable connection … the deepest of loves will be tested.
