Anguish (Jokers' Wrath MC, #3) by Bella Jewel

There are a lot of things in this world that are easy to escape from. Having a son you didn't ask for isn't one of them.

Mack is a nomad. He likes his own space and he struggles with emotion. His past is grey and his future looks about the same. That is until his ex-girlfriend dies and his son is handed over to him. A two month old baby he didn't know existed. Until now.

His world comes crashing down around him.

Desperate, he hires a nanny.

Jaylah has gotten herself into some serious trouble, so when she sees the job opening for a nanny pop up, she jumps on it. Of course she's not a nanny, but she figures she can pull it off. I mean, how hard can it be?

She's thrown into a world of diapers, hourly feedings and a whole lot of laundry. She's also introduced to the most rugged, gorgeous man she's ever had the pleasure of meeting.

The best part, he's the baby's father.

The worst part, he's a biker.

Their sexual tension is huge, but he's a hard nut to crack. She'll get in, though. She makes it her mission to break through the wall Mack has built so high around himself.

Her world is about to spiral out of control, and she's taking Mack along for the ride.

Book 3 in the Joker's Wrath MC series. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone as they feature a new couple every time, however I fully recommend reading them in the order in which they were written to avoid some spoilers.

Mack has decided to put down roots. Brother to Maddox, the President of The Joker's Wrath MC and a club Nomad, he knows that his brother needs him to stick around and support him at a difficult time in club history. We actually got to know Mack quite well in book 2, Melancholy; we also know that he has a story, especially when at the end of book 2 a woman arrived on his doorstep with a very young baby claiming he was the father and now had to step up to the plate as baby Diesel's mother was dead.

And so Book 3, Anguish begins. Having placed an advert for a nanny for his child, he is faced with offering the job to Jaylah. Jaylah is beautiful, sassy and pushes his buttons, but he needs someone to care for the child that brings out so many difficult emotions and memories for him. All he has to do is keep clear. What he doesn't need to be doing is forming attachments with Jaylah or his baby.

Jaylah is desperate. Having found herself on the wrong side of a drug dealer, she needs money fast. So what if she's never cared for a baby? how hard can it be? She soon finds that it may not be as easy as it seemed, especially when your employer is a absolute pig. He is also a bossy, demanding and way to beautiful. She just needs to make sure she keeps a professional distant; no problem.

When ghosts from Mack's past re-appear and demon's chase Jaylah down, will they decide that working together to protect each other and Diesel is the best option? or will they run in opposite directions?

This is a great series. I am a huge Bella Jewell fan; I loved her MC Sinners series, but for me she has really stepped it right up with this one. I can really see the growth in her storytelling, in the characters that she creates and the light and shade she works into the storylines. I have loved every character so far in this series and let me tell you that she has created another 2 fantastic protagonists in Mack and Jaylah. Mack is a deep soul, bitter about his past and unwilling or able to commit emotional to anyone including his son. Jaylah is his perfect tonic. Light, witty, independent and unafraid of the scariness that is Mack, she gives as good as she gets and really breathes new life into Mack's life. Determined to build a relationship between father and son, selflessly she makes Mack and his son's welfare and relationship her top priority. She is a top bird and you will fall in love with her charm and humour.

We also revisit other favourite members and their Old Ladies, catching up with them and speculating who the next book will be about (I hope Tyke!) We also meet a few new faces and in particular Marcus Tandem, a friend and Business associate of the club. Cleverly Bella has interwoven his story and introduced her next book to us at the same time. Till Death will be a new series and will be Marcus' story. let me say that you have done your job well Bella. I cannot wait to read Marcus' book - I can tell it's going to be very dark and mysterious.

For Bella Jewell fans, this is a absolute not to be missed book. For fans yet to pick up either 1 of her reads or in fact an MC romance, you wont go wrong with this series. The plot isn't over complicated, the characters are believable and the sex is HOT!! - I highly recommend it!

Bella jewel is just an amazing MC storyteller.

This book continues on immediately where Melancholy (Jokers' Wrath MC, #2) ended and this story is about MACK!!

We learn all about Mack, and why he was such a nomad for so many years. We learn about his pain, his heartbreak and his broken soul.

He literally wakes up one day and has a 2 month old baby land on his doorstep, a child he had no clue he had, a child he has no desire to even hold. The pain that child brings him is unbearable.. but what is he to do?? Well hire a nanny of course!

Enter Jaylah, a strong young woman in a very desperate situation. With ZERO nanny skills, even her mother tells her not to take the job because she will very likely kill the,  but she is in such a dire situation, and Mack is paying some serious $$ for a 24 hour nanny that she jumps at the chance. Even with being fearful of being involved with an MC, needs must!

Of course Bella weaves a tale of some seriously messed up drama, life and death scenarios and a whooooooooooooole lot of hotness. Anguish delivers as you get a seriously awesome MC story. And I love continuing series that also have the past characters getting involved and popping up now and then, it feels so good getting reacquainted.

Another fantastic instalment of the Jokers' Wrath series from Bella Jewel.
